Across the NFL during Week 13 games, players and coaches are wearing cleats highlighting non-profit organizations and charitable causes as part of the league’s My Cause, My Cleats initiative.

According to lists provided by NFL teams, 87 players from Alabama high schools and colleges are participating in the program’s seventh year.

· ‘NEAR BREAKING DOWN,’ ANTHONY SCHWARTZ FEELING BETTER WITH BROWNS

· JAMESON WILLIAMS IN LINE TO MAKE HIS NFL DEBUT WITH LIONS

Many have cleats boosting national groups such as the American Cancer Society and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Others are supporting groups based in the cities where they play. Some are putting the spotlight on foundations that they founded.

For three of the players, though, their cleats provide a link back to Alabama. Miami Dolphins nose tackle Raekwon Davis is supporting the Black Belt Community Foundation, New England Patriots linebacker Anfernee Jennings is supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Birmingham and Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne is supporting the Alabama Kidney Foundation.

After the games, the shoes will be up for bids at NFL Auction. The funds raised from the sales will be donated to the charities supported by the cleats.
