The NFL played in Germany for the first time on Sunday, and former Foley High School and Alabama standout Julio Jones scored the league’s first touchdown in that nation.
The wide receiver scored the opening points of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ game against the Seattle Seahawks on a 31-yard reception of a third-and-10 throw by quarterback Tom Brady with 13:40 left in the second quarter.
The teams are playing in Munich at Allianz Arena, the home field of the soccer club Bayern Munich.
In Tampa Bay’s 10th game of the season, Jones was playing for only the fifth time in 2022. He has been sidelined by hamstring and knee injuries.
Jones scored his second touchdown of the season on his ninth reception of 2022.
Jones ranks 24th in NFL history with 888 receptions and 16th with 13,486 receiving yards after his touchdown catch.
