TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Week 9 of the 2022-23 National Football League season concluded on Monday night. Below is a look at how former Alabama players performed.
Derrick Henry secured his place atop the Tennessee Titans’ career rushing touchdowns list with his two-score performance on Sunday Night Football. Henry matched Earl Campbell’s franchise record with his first score and then took sole possession of first place on his second touchdown of the game and 74th score of his career. He finished the night with 115 total yards and the two scores across 17 carries. The performance marked Henry’s fifth straight game with 100-plus yards and moved him to first in the NFL for rushing yards.
Fellow running back Kenyan Drake posted a standout effort in Baltimore’s 27-14 primetime win over the New Orleans Saints. The Ravens’ tailback rushed 24 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns while adding two receptions for 16 yards.
Tua Tagovailoa had another impressive game for the Dolphins in their win on Sunday afternoon. The Miami signal-caller threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns on the way to a 35-32 victory over the Chicago Bears. Jaylen Waddle was the recipient of one of Tagovailoa’s touchdown passes, part of his five receptions totaling 85 yards on the day.
Linebacker Rashaan Evans was all over the field once again, posting 12 tackles for the Falcons. Evans added one tackle for loss, one pass defensed and forced a fumble in the contest. Fellow linebacker C.J. Mosley played a critical role in New York’s win over the division-leading Buffalo Bills. Mosley accumulated six tackles, including one sack, while adding one pass defensed and a quarterback hit for the Jets.
Defensive back Marlon Humphrey recorded a team-leading seven tackles in Baltimore’s victory over New Orleans. Humphrey also added one tackle for loss, one sack, one pass defensed and one quarterback hit in the win. Rounding out the defensive performers was lineman Daron Payne. The Commanders’ defensive anchor posted six tackles, including four for loss, to go along with one sack and a pair of quarterback hits.
