In his 100th NFL regular-season game on Sunday, Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry ran for 104 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries and caught four passes for 59 yards. But Henry’s efforts didn’t prevent the Titans from losing their fourth consecutive game when Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker made a 43-yard field goal with four seconds to play in a 17-14 setback for Tennessee.

Henry scored from the King Cat formation, taking a direct snap and running 4 yards to the end zone as Tennessee tied the game with 10:09 left in the first half. On the six-play, 63-yard TD drive, Henry accounted for all the yards with 26 yards on three carries and a 37-yard reception.

Henry has 77 rushing touchdowns, the sixth-most in NFL history for a player in his first 100 games in the Super Bowl era. Emmitt Smith has the most with 103, followed by LaDainian Tomlinson with 102, former Alabama star Shaun Alexander with 91, Adrian Peterson with 86 and Eric Dickerson with 80.

In his 100 regular-season games, Henry has 32 100-yard rushing performances. Tennessee now has a 26-6 record in those games, but it was the third 100-yard game in a row for Henry that the Titans have lost.

With a 7-yard run on the third snap of the game, Henry became the 54th NFL player with 8,000 rushing yards. Henry finished the game with 8,100 career rushing yards, and he’s the 17th player in NFL history to reach that figure in his first 100 games.

Tennessee dropped to 7-7 with the loss, but the Titans continue to hold the top spot in the AFC South. The division winner will host a game in the first round of the playoffs.

With three weeks left in the regular season, Tennessee’s lead is down to one game over the Jacksonville Jaguars, who upended the Dallas Cowboys 40-34 in overtime on Sunday to improve to 6-8. The Jaguars defeated the Titans 36-22 last week, and the teams will square off in the regular-season finale in Jacksonville on Jan. 8.

Henry was among the 33 former Alabama players who got on the field on the 15th Sunday of the NFL’s 103rd season.

Two other former Alabama players were involved in the Tennessee-Los Angeles game:

· Titans defensive end Da’Shawn Hand is on injured reserve and not eligible to play.

· Chargers punter JK Scott averaged 41.6 yards on seven punts with a net average of 38.7 yards. Scott had a 42-yard punt for a fair catch at the Tennessee 37-yard line, a 39-yarder for a fair catch at the Tennessee 18, a 35-yarder that was muffed at the Tennessee 20 and recovered by the Titans at their 21, a 31-yarder for a fair catch at the Tennessee 13, a 45-yarder returned for no gain at the Tennessee 46, a 45-yarder for a touchback and a 54-yarder that went out of bounds at the Tennessee 26.
