Alabama has dipped into California for a five-star quarterback once again, landing a commitment Wednesday afternoon from Julian Sayin, ranked No. 14 overall and the No. 2 QB in the Class of 2024 in the 247Sports Composite.
Alabama’s last quarterback signee from California, Bryce Young in the Class of 2020, won the Heisman Trophy in 2021, his first year as a starter.
Sayin, who plays at Carlsbad High School, is the Crimson Tide’s fourth commitment in the 2024 class. All four are ranked among the top 125 nationally.
If Young departs for the NFL, Alabama is slated to have four scholarship quarterbacks in 2023: Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson and 2023 commits Eli Holstein and Dylan Lonergan.
