Thompson and Auburn will meet in Wednesday’s Class 7A championship game as the top two teams in the latest AL.com Power 25 Poll.

The Warriors (10-3) remain No. 1 with this week with the Tigers (12-1) moving up one spot to No 2.

Kickoff at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Wednesday is set for 7 p.m. Thompson has won the last three Class 7A titles, including a 29-28 last-second win over Auburn in 2020.

Class 6A finalist Saraland is up one spot to No. 3 after knocking off previously unbeaten Theodore 21-6 last week. Hoover and Mountain Brook round out the top five.

The Power 25 ranks the best high school football teams in Alabama regardless of classification. Here are this week’s rankings with total points, best ranking among the four poll voters, last week’s ranking, last week’s result and this week’s opponent if the team is still alive in the playoffs.
